Stone Landscapes carries out fence repairs, fence replacements and new fencing across Bristol from our base in Keynsham. We work with featheredge, post and panel, Venetian, composite and timber fencing, with timber or concrete posts, and supply and fit gates in wood, metal or composite.
A lot of fencing work starts with one problem – a panel blown out in the wind or a post that has rotted at ground level. Leaning posts can often be fixed with a wood or concrete spur rather than a full replacement. When the damage runs along the whole fence, replacing it is usually the better long-term answer.
Not sure which applies to yours? Our guide on whether to repair or replace a fence covers the signs to look for.

Bristol has a real mix of gardens: long, narrow plots behind Victorian and Edwardian terraces, semis with side access, and newer estates with open-plan fronts. On terraced streets there is often no side access, so posts, panels and concrete have to come through the house or down a shared passage. That is worth knowing when you arrange a quote, and we take it into account when we look at the job.
Plenty of Bristol gardens slope, too, which can mean a fence needs to step down the garden rather than follow a single straight line. Concrete posts and gravel boards are a good choice where the ground stays damp, as they will not rot at the base the way timber posts do.
In England, most garden fences do not need planning permission up to 2 metres high, or 1 metre next to a road used by vehicles. Bristol has a number of conservation areas, and different rules apply to listed buildings, so check with Bristol City Council before changing a front boundary in those areas.
For businesses, we also install and repair fencing as part of our commercial grounds maintenance in Bristol. You can read more on our main fencing page.

We recently contracted Stone Landscapes LTD to replace the fencing in the field next to our village hall, and we were extremely pleased with the results. They removed the old, broken fence and installed a new fence exactly to our specifications using 4x rails, along with a custom-built, secure solid-panel gate. The quality of workmanship, attention to detail, and precision throughout the project were excellent. Once the work was completed, the entire area was thoroughly cleared and all debris removed. In addition to the fencing work, they also levelled the field with topsoil and have since returned to maintain and cut the grass. James, the owner, was highly responsive throughout the process, replying promptly to messages and keeping us fully informed at every stage. Their pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of work delivered. We have now arranged a regular maintenance contract with Stone Landscapes LTD and have found them to be professional, reliable, and very pleasant to deal with. We would highly recommend their services to anyone.Posted on Google![]()

Yes. We are based in Keynsham and work across Bristol, as well as Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
Often, yes. Damaged panels and boards can be replaced, and leaning posts can usually be secured with a wood or concrete spur. If most of the fence is failing, replacement tends to make more sense. See should you repair or replace your fence.
Featheredge, post and panel, Venetian, composite and timber fencing, with timber or concrete posts, plus gates in wood, metal or composite.
Usually not if the fence is no higher than 2 metres, or 1 metre next to a road used by vehicles. Listed buildings and some conservation areas have extra rules, so check with Bristol City Council if that applies to your property.
